Her mitochondrial DNA matches Mary Magdalene and Mumia Juanita of Peru, and her father’s mother’s mitochondrial DNA matches Egyptian mummies. Other ancestors are Native Americans from several tribes, and from various Asian countries. Her family literally has the blood of the world running through their veins.

In this young adult fantasy adventure novel, a teenage girl sets out to save her tribe and sister-tribes, herself, the women and girls, and essentially the whole world. She defies her grandfather in the beginning, gets her sister and herself into great trouble, yet eventually saves many lives and earns the respect of the warriors, everyone, and most important her grandfather. In the end, there is a battle, and she meets a new beau.
The theme of the book is tolerance. The young heroine exudes strength, morals, and love of family. Her new beau is also strong, but she takes the lead. If a Knight in Shining Armor comes along, great, if not, girls must be able to protect themselves and each other.
