Can we agree that lies and narratives can cause harm and unnecessary global oppression, racial chaos, and hurt? World history is built on a faulty foundation, and my family is at the root of it all! This is what I explore in my books. The story of Columbus and his "African slave or servant" comes to mind when I think of faulty foundations. What the world does not know is that the little "African slave" was his son, and my grandfather, also known as Sephardic- Portuguese Diego Columbus, who was masked as a victim of the Atlantic slave trade! Let us not forget that Jamaica was gifted to his descendants! This story mirrors Canada's "African slave" Columbus, also known as Matthieu da Costa, who was the initial colonizer of Jamaica and New Jersey after Canada (and part of the slave-owning family in the Carolinas, etc.)! What about the first white man the Pueblo and Navajo ever saw, aka "Stephen the Black" (Esteban)? Crazy stuff, right? Can we agree that we have a lot to fix?
