It's a shame that many Americans are unaware of Native American issues. We seem to know more about historical figures like Hitler and global events than we do about our indigenous people. For example, many people are unaware that Native Americans fought against the DAPL pipeline in South Dakota, and other tribes on the border of the United States and Canada fought Enbridge. These pipelines have had a detrimental impact on Native American communities, poisoning their drinking water and food systems. Unfortunately, there hasn't been enough media coverage of Native American issues compared to other racial or ethnic groups in America, especially considering that Native Americans are the original inhabitants of this land. It's time for us to speak out and fight for the rights of all people in the United States and around the world. We can't claim to have a global conscience and call out other countries for human rights violations while ignoring similar issues in our own country.
